What size of urn do I need?

The size of the urn is determined by the weight of the deceased. Each pound of body weight is equivalent to one inch of remains. The average urn will accommodate 200 cubic inches of remains.

How is my urn sealed?

All of our urns, including keepsakes, are semi-permanently sealed by screws that hold the base onto the urn. The screw allows you to re-open the urn at a later date if you wish to add a memento to the remains, such as a watch or ring. If you wish, you can permanently seal the urn using regular epoxy adhesive, found in any hardware store. Simply apply the epoxy to the rim of the base and re-screw into place.

Who puts the ashes into my urn?

Normally the Crematory will provide this service, however, you should discuss this matter with the Director of the Funeral Home that is handling the services for you. Our suggestion is to have the remains contained in a plastic bag when placed in the urn, then it can be sealed with the hardware provided. Instructions are placed inside all of our urns.

What is a keepsake urn?

The keepsake urn is smaller in size, designed to hold approximately 5% of the remains. This is a wonderful option when there are several family members who would like to keep a portion of their loved one remains after internment.

Can I only put ashes in my keepsake?

No, the details of this should be discussed with us before hand to ensure adequate space for the specific item(s) that you may want to have included in the keepsake. Most people have included jewelry, particles of flowers from the funeral arrangements, or some sacred ground from the burial site.
